Life lessons for a entrepreneurial minded 20 something year old.

Everything thing you do is a choice and everything you do was at some point a thought. From what you ate for breakfast, to the car you currently drive, even the shower you had this morning it all came from a thought. Lesson 1 … OUR THOUGHTS BECOME THING’S.

YOU have the choice to get up everyday and decide the type of day you’re  going to have. If you wake up unhappy to go to work, unhappy to do the food shop, unhappy to do X Y AND Z you will be in that negative mood and you will attract more negativity - you will feel fed up, miserable, unfulfilled and in short you will have a bad day feeling unhappy. You will find multiple thing’s to complain about and you will be on a spiral of feeling low.

Now imagine you wake up you’re grateful you have a job to go to. You’re grateful you have money in your purse to go and do the food shop and create meals. You are grateful for X Y AND Z you will attract happiness. You will radiate happiness. Gratitude is a magnet for success in whatever shape or size. You have the CHOICE everyday to decide how you’re going to spend your day. YOU have that power.

Lesson number 2 - YOU HAVE A CHOICE.

Don’t get me wrong not everyday is sunshine and rainbows but as I write down a list of my go to’s for feeling powered up and positive if it helps one person  il be so happy as I’ve learnt the mind is a very powerful tool and we have to protect our thoughts and mind as much as possible.

So here is a list with a few examples of what I do that I find really keeps me in high spirits and motivated.

- LISTEN TO FEEL GOOD MUSIC.

bad B music if you’re like me.

- WORK OUT or TWERKOUT

Working out is proven to help reduce anxiety, depression, negative moods and help increase our self-esteem. I personally love to combine the two- music and workouts! YouTube have amazing home workouts and dance classes you don’t have to physically be going out to the gym.

- GRATITUDES

Grab a pen and write down on paper 10 things you are grateful for, if you read this and think ‘well I don’t have ten things’. Think about the roof over your head, the car you drive, the people around you, a conversation that you may have had with someone you loved, your family, your health… when you think properly you realise actually there is so much for you to be grateful for.

-AFFIRMATIONS

Affirmations are SO powerful not only do they help motivate us but they help our self esteem. Look yourself in the mirror everyday and shoutout 5 affirmations minimum! Tell yourself you are STRONG, you are CAPABLE, you are POWERFUL, you are HEALTHY, tell yourself you can ACHIEVE anything you set out to do. Really feel every single word you tell yourself and watch what happens to your life, your motivation and your confidence.

It’s funny because really they should teach this in school, but they don’t. In school if someone said something unkind  it would make us feel bad. If someone said something unkind to me now not only would it not bother me because their words have absolutely zero meaning to me or my life but it would make me feel sorry for them…  HAPPY PEOPLE DO NOT TALK BAD ABOUT OTHERS. HAPPY PEOPLE ARE TOO FOCUSED ON THEMSELVES, THEIR OWN LIFE AND GOALS TO CARE WHAT ANYONE ELSE IS DOING. Never forget that!

- CREATE, CREATE, CREATE!

This really could be anything. Being creative has similar positive effects as working out. It helps reduce stress, low moods and also it helps you become more productive. Tapping into your creativity whether that’s drawing, taking photos, dancing, making something physical, digitally, making a vision board, even doing your hair and makeup anything that gets you tapping into your creativity is great for the mind. Relax, and enjoy being creative!

-ORGANISE.

Clear space clear mind. I am so demotivated when the house is a mess, I can’t work if my desk is a mess… organisation is key. From a clear tidy work space to a clear fridge. Take a couple of days to really get stuck in to your home and if you haven’t used it in a year do we really need to keep it?
Organise your inbox, your purse, your handbag, your car, home and social media. Tell me how fucking good you feel after! Social media is a place that can really effect our mental health. STOP following people that make you feel bad, that make you feel that you aren’t good enough. Social media isn’t real. People post their best photos, their best moments so when you compare it to a journey you may be on learn to not compare yourself ever. We all struggle and sometimes we all live our best life too.

Only follow positive, uplifting people SURROUND YOURSELF with these types of people and protect your energy in and off socials.

TURN ANY PAIN YOU HAVE INTO POWER.

Turning pain into power had been key to get me to where I am now. From being told I would never amount to anything at school dropping out of school to move abroad at 17. From the delightful customers at McDonald’s that assume we’re all thick scum of the earth. To the comments when I became a parent at 18, I have had my fair share of degrading comments that have made me WANT better, DO better… They made me be better. They motivated me, pushed me and made me think FUCK YOU WATCH ME. Here we are now.

Take anyone’s comments no matter your current situation with a pinch of salt but always remember only YOU can change your situation, ONLY you can do the work, so It’s up to YOU to make it happen. No excuses just pure dedication to go after everything you want. The world is yours.

lots of love
